PACfest Entertainment Options

Here's a copy of an email I sent to our PACfest committee regarding entertainment options for this year's celebration:

Dear PACfest Committee members,

As we discussed in yesterday’s meeting, here is an updated list of recommendations received for bands to play at PACfest. Please keep in mind that we are looking for 3 bands and one Headline Act. Please give me two choices for the Headline Act, and recommend 3 bands for the remainder of the day. You can still submit additional recommendations that are not listed here. Remember that we are setting a deadline of February 1 for recommendations. Please ask your co-workers if they have heard of any of these bands, and what their thoughts and recommendations are.

None of the bands listed below have been consulted, so I am not aware of their availability yet, or more importantly, their price range!

Ellen Shull

Last night I went to the HEB at 1604 and Bandera to pick up some groceries for my family and I came across a free magazine located on the rack by the entrance/exit of the pharmacy side of the store called "San Antonio Woman."

After arriving home and putting the groceries away, I looked through the magazine and came across an article entitled "Double Life: Poet/businesswoman Beverly Monestier combines careers on two continents." Reading the article by Paula Allen, I was pleased to read the following"

"...When Monestier was their age, she was at Incarnate Word High School, where English teacher Ellen Shull (now at Palo Alto College) 'did the best thing anybody's ever done for me as a writer. She taught me how to accept criticism of my poems and learn from it.'...."

Congratulations, Ellen, for making such a tremendous positive impact on a fellow student.
