PAC Bereavement Update

Funeral arrangements for Dr. Guzmán’s father have been made. There will be a mass in his honor at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Miami Beach, Florida, on Saturday, March 15 at 10 a.m.

The Guzmán family has requested that in lieu of flowers, please send donations for a scholarship fund in honor of his late grandson—The Ryan Smith Guzman Memorial Scholarship—via the ACCD Foundation. If paying by check, please make it payable to “The ACCD Foundation” and in the “For” block at the bottom of the check, please write in “Ryan Smith Guzmán Scholarship.” The check can then be “Ponied” or mailed to the ACCD Foundation, Attn: Roland DuBay. The Ryan Smith Guzmán Scholarship--In memory of her son, Dr. Ana M. Guzmán established a scholarship to commemorate the life and achievements of this remarkable young man. Although immensely gifted in many ways, school was a challenge for Ryan. He was a determined student with perseverance and plans to transfer from a community college to a four-year institution. Through contributions toward the Ryan Smith Guzmán Memorial Scholarship fund, the College will award scholarships for qualifying students to ensure their success in transferring to a four-year university.
