Good Afternoon, All:
This is to let everyone know that Legal Services has updated its consultant and professional services form. It is now two different forms depending on the services that you are purchasing. The short form, with which most of your are familiar, is titled “Agreement for Professional and Consultant Services” and should be used for (and this is stated on the cover page of the form document) for short-term or event specific professional or consulting services rendered to Alamo Colleges. Examples of appropriate uses for this form are listed on the cover page of the document along with directions for processing the contract.
Additionally, we’ve created a new form, titled “Services Agreement” and should be used for professional or consulting services rendered to Alamo Colleges which are for a long term or of a substantive nature. Examples of appropriate uses for this form are listed on the cover page of the document along with directions for processing this contract.
These two forms, along with other forms, can be found on the Legal Services webpage cited above. I recommend that you always pull your forms from the webpage (in lieu of saving the form in your directory) in case we have minor updates that do not warrant a mass email notification. The forms on the webpage are the current versions and everyone is expected to use current versions of the form agreements. Often we receive agreements from the campuses in forms from 1, 2 or even 3 years ago. Please advise and remind anyone who is initiating contractual agreements that they should consult the Legal Services webpage for the current forms. If we do not have a form that fits your need, please contact our office and we will assist with drafting an agreement with you.
Please always keep in mind that forms are just that – a form. They will not address every situation perfectly. Any revisions need to be processed through our office. Additionally, when any form is in Word format, and “unlocked” you MUST use “track changes” when filling in blanks and making any proposed revisions.
