Inclement Weather Update

Given current weather conditions and weather forecasts, the Alamo Colleges will continue its normal operations for Thursday, January 7, and Friday, January 8. Please call the weather line at 485-0189 for the latest information.

Today’s weather ranges from a low of 43 degrees to a high of 53 degrees. Tomorrow’s weather forecast is for a low of 25 degrees to a high of 45 degrees---partly cloudy and windy. Friday’s forecast ranges from a low of 22 degrees to a high of 42 degrees---partly cloudy.

Today’s Express-News recommends:
Wrap exterior faucets and water pipes with insulating material or newspapers covered with cloth.

Disconnect exterior water hoses.

Open cabinet doors to allow your home’s heat to reach pipes under the sink.

Let a faucet drip to relieve pressure that may build between a faucet and a possible ice blockage in the water pipe.

Bring pets indoors if possible.

Turn off space heaters before going to sleep.

Place space heaters at least three feet from other objects.

Stay alert if you know of someone who lives alone and may be exposed to cold without others noticing or has insufficient heat at home.
