Parking in Lot 11 Tomorrow

Tomorrow, Wednesday, February 20, Palo Alto College will celebrate the Grand Opening of its State-of-the-Art $5.2 million Veterinary Technology Building!

The college has invited representatives from the Alamo Community Colleges Board of Trustees; sister college representatives; members of the Citizen’s Oversight Committee; Congressman Ciro Rodriguez and other elected officials, members of the architect firm of Rehler Vaughn & Koone, Inc.; representatives of Spawglass; community members and most importantly, our students, faculty and staff.

An event of this magnitude is going to require to the cooperation and patience of everyone at Palo Alto College. Beginning later this afternoon, the road immediately in front of the Veterinary Technology (Vet Tech) Building will be closed off so that a large tent and seating may be erected. Later this evening, portions of Lot 11, located in front of the Vet Tech Building, the portable buildings, and the Ozuna Learning and Academic Center will also be closed off in order to reserve parking spaces for guests attending the Grand Opening.

We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause students, faculty and staff who are accustomed to parking in Lot 11 since chances are good that you may be required to park in another parking lot tomorrow. After consultation with Officer Tello, I would like to recommend you consider parking in Lot 8, which is immediately in front of the Ray Ellison Family Center; Lots 1 and 2 which face the Business, Palomino Center and Math and Science Buildings; or in Lot 5, which is in front of the Executive Office Buildings and faces Loop 410.

Tomorrow morning, we realize that habit may cause you to automatically drive into Lot 11. We respectfully request that you do not disobey traffic and parking control devices that will be in place. Yes, you may have to walk a little further on Wednesday, but it will all be for a good cause.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please call or email me. Thank you for your help in helping us showcase the newest building of the Palo Alto College and Alamo Community Colleges family!
