PAC Palominos serving the Community
On Friday, the 2007 Walk and Roll Corporate Challenge winner was announced, and while the energy-conscience Palominos of Palo Alto College did not win, I am proud of everyone who participated in this worthwhile event during the month of June to travel smarter for our environment.
Nineteen organizations encouraged over 9,000 employees to participate in the city-wide program, resulting in 550,000 smart miles being logged, which I'm told reduced one ton of pollution in June.
The next community-wide event PAC will be participating in is HABITAT FOR HUMANITY, Friday, July 20 at 7:45 a.m. at Algo Dulce Drive. Project Hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and
Volunteers must be between the ages of 14-75; Volunteers 14-17 must sign liability waiver and be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
If you are interested in volunteering for the community service project, please contact Leandro M. Esparza at (210) 921-5509, via email at lesparza@accd.edu or visit his office in Room 101C of the Natatorium/Gym.
